What do you know about falafel? Crispy on the outside, moist on the inside and it tastes amazing with hummus and garlic sauce! But there are so many more ways to enjoy this delicious (and vegetarian!) treat. Why not take falafel, turn it into a patty, and serve it as a burger? Who says burgers only have to be made out of beef!

Yield: 6 - 8

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 7 - 10 minutes

1 box falafel mix
1 handful chopped coriander
Oil, for frying 

1. Follow the instructions on the box for the falafel mixture. I like to add additional spices to the mixture, including chopped fresh cilantro.

2. Once the mixture is ready, place some oil on your hands and form it into patties. Patties will rise a bit when fried.

3. Heat oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add burgers and fry until golden on each side, turning once, about three minutes per side.

It’s as simple as that! You can use any toppings you want. Try sliced Spanish onions, mixed with some olive oil, salt and pepper, a dash of paprika and balsamic vinegar. Pickled radish, pickles and banana peppers work well too.

Add a squirt of hot sauce, but not just any hot sauce – Sriracha!

Put that bad boy together and enjoy.
